A Common Thread

There is a very common and altogether heartbreaking thread among refugees – they want to return home, they have no money, no possibility to make money, they are sick and lack food, have many children and worst of all, they have seen things that they will never forget, atrocities that make life and future survival difficult. Meet Abdul Hadi Zanwa Hamza, he is the epitome of the above statement. At 45 years old, he and his family, one daughter, three sons, his spouse and the sister of his spouse arrived at Bahrka Refugee Camp 18 June 2017. They fled Mosul because of ISIS who threatened their family many times, including placing a bomb on their doorstep.

Bahrka Camp has been a savior for them. Abdul Hadi suffers from painful eyes and is losing his vision, diabetes and high blood pressure and treating these medical conditions requires money, money they do not have. Their home in Mosul was destroyed by bombs and everything in it was lost. They have nothing left, Bahrka Camp is the only place they have right now. He desperately wants to return home, but how? They wait for humanitarian aid. To help him and others living in refugee camps, see bringhope.info
