A common social foundation in 73 countries for our 200,000 employees

We were welcomed at the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) today to sign the BNP Paribas Agreement on Fundamental Rights and Global Social Framework with our partners from UNI Global Union.

This agreement is part of the Global Deal initiative to promote responsible globalization, which BNP Paribas has joined. It is thus fully aligned with the BNP Paribas 2020 Engagement Manifesto.

200,000 employees in the 73 countries where the BNP Paribas Group is present now have a common social foundation.

BNP Paribas has made a commitment to reach 1 million hours of paid corporate volunteering at the Group level worldwide by 2020.

All Group employees will be entitled to 14 weeks minimum of paid maternity leave, life and disability insurance and healthcare coverage for medical expenses. Group entities are also encouraged to provide paternity leave if it is not already provided.

These are just a few examples. This is a very comprehensive and ambitious agreement that will help improve the quality of life and working conditions of a large number of employees in a variety of different geographies. It is also a source of performance for the entire Group. It underlines the importance BNP Paribas places on being a responsible employer.

Our job now is to implement this agreement around the world. I am delighted that our Group has signed this agreement and I intend to closely monitor its effective application.

Fière d'avoir participé à l'élaboration de cet Accord Mondial en tant que secrétaire adjointe du Comité Européen du Groupe BNP PARIBAS. Cet accord est la conséquence des 3 accords européens signé entre 2014 et 2018.

Let’s also treat people with care and love. Let’s support the needy and less privileged in the society by donating a little to raise funds to support these people on the African continent . God bless you

Working together!
