Common sense and pragmatism is becoming a scarce commodity here

I am so upset and it's going to reflect in my language here, excuse my french but this is how best i can describe unmitigated clueless attitude and downright stupidity.There was a counter communique to the energy commission that the data and methodology in determining the category of home used items to be banned was wrong,it was a data based on 2003 project they carried out.

Now, a 28 inch CRTV in 2003 consumes minimum of 140 watts of power.Today no one brings in CRTV, it won't even be bought if you should bring any, unless you bring it in to keep as vintage Tv in your collection or you have some emotional attachment to it.All the TV's of late are LED, and even a home used 52 inch LED consumes nothing more than 28 watts.The question is why the ban?Some of those used Tv's are better quality than the brand new Hisense, Mooved,etc etc brands.I dont see how a JVC or Panasonic 52 inch LED is worse than the same size brand new Mooved brand.

My heart bled when i saw an idiot who had been given very stupid and idiotic instructions to go check and destroy refrigerators at the Port and as i said this idiot with a hammer just looks at a refrigerator and strikes the cabinet and inside of a fridge to destroy it,i was shaking in disbelief at such unmitigated stupidity being displayed by this guy who was in an energy commission vest.He just looks at a Fridge then gbam!!! gbam!!!! gbam!!!!! he destroys with a hammer like an angel of death.When did the ban take effect and when did those goods arrive?, so someone asked a question that what about the over 30 million older fridges working in peoples homes ,are they going to drive around from house to house with their hammer destroying fridges?We are a poor country begging for 3 billion dollars , far less than the budget of Manchester United FC yet we behave like we so savy. Why can't they just remove the motor, compressor and coolant and replace with modern ones and truth be told , some of the fridges i saw them destroying are no different from the new ones in any electronics show room.There is no double door fridge with 4 stars rating and i dare anyone to show me one.The four stars are often table top fridges,if there should be at all, which i doubt no one can afford those fridges.We have one star fridges in shops being sold , are they going to destroy those as well?

I live around the American house, i have a 70 year old fridge i have to crank up like a corn mill to get it to start and it consumes power like crazy and cools like mad, , i am waiting in my house, they should come destroy it,boneheads!!!!!

Energy commission wake up and smell the coffee, not every electrical/electronic item that is imported is used, some are store rejects , they have never been used because in civilized countries where brains function right, the people have many companies producing these items so they dont remain on the shelves in a shop for over 6 months.Here in Ghana these items are still luxuries because we dont produce any here.Common sense and pragmatism is fast becoming a scarce commodity indeed, here in Ghana.
