Common Reasons why your Google Ads are not running

You may notice that your campaigns are not serving as many impressions as you would expect, or are not spending much of your set daily budget.

In this article, we’ll cover some common reasons why your ads may not be serving well.

1. Account issues

If you pay by monthly invoicing, check your?account budget. If your total campaign costs reach the designated amount in the account budget before your set end date, all ads in the account will stop running

Check your Billing Summary or Transactions pages for declined payments. Your account may stop running until you pay off the outstanding balance.

2. Ad groups and ads are not active

Even if your campaign is enabled, check to make sure you have active ad groups and ads within your campaign, and check the status of your ad. Keywords can also impact your campaign’s ability to serve. Hover over your campaign’s status to see what percentage of ads are eligible to show.?

3. Low creative Ad Strength

Check your campaign’s?Ad strength?to see if creative coverage or quality can be improved. In particular, if your Ad Strength is not ‘Excellent’, adding more images and headlines can help boost performance.

If you’re running?Responsive Search Ads, Responsive Display Ads, App Campaigns, and Performance Max, it’s important to ensure you have a unique set of creatives across ad formats.?

4. Low budget

When you have a low budget, your ads may not serve as often while Google Ads ensures your campaign doesn't spend more than your spending limit. Your?campaign status?may also display “Eligible (Limited)” to indicate that it’s either not serving or underserving due to a low budget. If campaign status indicates that your campaign is limited by budget, check your budget report

5.?Ad Targeting is too narrow

If you’re targeting a small list of?low search volume?keywords, there are more chances that your Search campaign won’t be able to serve. Targeting one postal code, a small area, or a city with a low population can limit your campaign’s reach or prevent it from serving.
