As a recruiter, I jump between many domains and resumes to find the best-fit candidates. Many times, I notice differences between the information written on the resume and the actual candidate. I want to share a few words that I hope will be helpful for all readers.

Always focus on what you are expressing through your resume. Your resume is your first impression, so make it potential with your realistic thoughts and goals. Avoid unclear career objectives before sharing your resume with any recruiter. Pay attention to the career objective you paste at the top of your resume. Companies prefer to hire someone with a well-rhyming career objective that aligns with their mission and vision.

Keep your skills crisp and clear. Don't list dozens of skills to try to impress recruiters. Always mention what you have done and what skills make you stand out from the crowd. Claim the job with realistic and proven inputs, never exaggerate your skills.

Highlight your work journey with a clean format. Follow the sequential flow:

  • Company Name
  • Designation
  • Duration
  • Projects
  • Role
  • If you are a fresher, mention the projects you have created during your course, internships, internship domains, duration, and mentor.

Keep approachable contact information. Always allow the recruiters to surf your professional profiles on platforms like LinkedIn. Don't forget to share your active number and email IDs. Always drop your availability to appear in screening calls.

Keep a simple and professional layout. Recruiters love to read resumes that have a professional touch and are simple to understand. Don't decorate your resume with multiple colors, caricatures, or irrelevant links. Follow a well-suited format for your domain.
