During the week is ending, (27 April to 1 Mayor 2015), we managed to fulfill a hectic work schedule. Led by Mr. Santos Arroyo, founder and CEO of the Puerto Rican Hispanic Chamber (PRHCC), and members of the PRHCC, we perform the scheduled meetings with influential people in the community of West Palm Beach, Florida, USA . The strategy to achieve the support of these people for the realization of upcoming events worked. The vision of the interest of seeking a positive social impact in the Hispanic community in the United States, was shared and supported by the representatives of the sectors appealed; . Including the Honorable Jeri Muoio, Mayor of West Palm Beach, Florida and Mr. Jose Tagle, Special Assistant to the Mayor, and Mr. Christopher Roog, Director of the Department of Economic Development of the City. Similarly, the Mrs. G Reyes, vice president of PNC Banks. We met with Mr. Luis Belen, CEO of the National Health IT Collaborative, organization with base in Washington, and Dr. Maria Vallejo, Rector of Palm Beach State College, Lakeworth, West Palm Beach, Florida. At these meetings, also participated, Mr. Xavier (Jerry) Sotelo, Executive of the Florida Power & Light Company. Likewise, we subsequently met with the Ms. Michelle Oyola McGovern, Director of External Affairs, Office of Senator Bill Nelson of Florida State.
We had the gratifying and wonderful experience of visiting the exhibition of photographs, taken, prepared by young students of Florida. This with the extraordinary mentoring of the Ms. Fatima Nejame, CEO and President of the Palm Beach Photographic Centre. This photo center is considered the largest in the United States. The exhibition is based on pictures (photos) of the Havana, Cuba; project that allowed the Cuban government made with certain conditions and restrictions. Bu,t dramatically mystical reflecting all a very different country to what we could imagine. Structures "art Deco", but visibly mired by destruction and total abandonment. The center offers an opportunity window and serves participants from around the world. This Centre is annually visited by students, researchers, and anyone devoted to the world of photography.
Puerto Rico Legislation
Moreover, with the support of our friend Ivan Baez, Corporate Affairs Director ("speaker") at Walmart for the Caribbean, we drafted a press release to expose our project opinion about the value-added tax (VAT). Understanding, that the proposed Bill was not disclosed in a transparent manner. Thanks Ivan, and the Association of Retailers for your confidence in us as an organization. Next week, we will be sending a press release through the Orlando Sentinel, the Miami Herald and other media in the United States. And of course the local press of Puerto Rico.
Commitment
We proposed to continue to spread the principles of the theory of sustainability, and its development within the Hispanic community in the United States including Puerto Rico.
"We can not pretend to solve problems with the same mindset that led us to create them" (Epstein, 209).
