Committing to Commit
The Job Hunt is no easy task! Whether you're currently working or unemployed and looking to get into a new role asap - the same applies - We understand it's no small undertaking to get yourself the best possible position.
There are a handful of tips and some important points to keep in mind when embarking on the search and what you should be prepared for - this is going to truly allow you to have the success in putting your best foot forward and landing that dream job.
Showing off your skills
- Got your CV ready - it's written, it contains the vital info - but be prepared to make changes and tweaks along the way!
- Folio if you need one - collate some design or code samples - you're convincing a stranger to pay you money after all, give them a good reason to meet you
Making Time
- There's no avoiding the actual physical task of going to an interview - are you mentally prepared and organised to make time to go and meet companies - when could you meet them? Difficult to do in work hours? Can you you get away early one day or similar to make time?
- You might need to complete a small test or task for this potential employer - are you going to be able to make time for this?
If you're not prepared to commit to this level when beginning your job search then maybe it's not the right time for you?
I'll let you in on a little secret - some of these tasks, going to interviews etc etc - they're tests in themselves - an employer is testing your commitment and finding out how much motivation you have for going into a new challenge - give them no reason to doubt you and show them what you got!
