Committed to What Matters
As we near the end of 2020, with promising vaccines on the horizon and a renewed hope for the future, the fact is, this year has changed the world and all of us with it.
Whether delivering cold chain solutions to transport vaccines to the world’s population or creating healthier indoor environments for people to live and work, we all have a role to play in creating more sustainable and equitable solutions that address major societal challenges. Among them—climate change, systemic racism, and food insecurity.
At Carrier, we are determined to do our part – to create solutions that matter for people and our planet. That’s why today, we announced a target to reduce our customers’ carbon footprint by more than one gigaton by 2030—supported by investment in healthy and sustainable buildings and cold chain solutions. This goal is one of many under our new 2030 environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals—Carrier’s first set of ESG goals since we became an independent company in April.
To help ensure meaningful, measurable progress, our 2030 goals will support the three focus areas of our ESG strategy:
- Planet. We will innovate for society. Through a rigorous focus on R&D, and operational efficiency, we are committed to industry-leading innovation that will help reduce both our customers’ and our own environmental footprints.
- People. We will work to empower all people. We understand that success is a result of building the best teams—and that takes action, such as investing in STEM education programs that promote diversity and inclusion, and promoting sustainability through community partnerships and climate resiliency programs.
- Communities. We will operate with integrity. We understand that ethics and compliance are crucial to creating long-term value. By striving for exceptional governance and creating transparency we aim to be a trusted member of the community.
Put it all together and it’s a strategy that, we believe, will help us take bold action and drive measurable outcomes for our organization, for people and for our planet.
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we are all in this together and that we all have a role to play. It can be tough for one person or one organization alone to change the world. But when we all take bold actions together, they all add up… and we can make a positive impact.

4 年I am 100% disabled veteran and firemedic and I’m on my third ac. The wire failed and carrier was sending me something on the 17th that I have yet to receive. I am now sick as have not been able to use my heat as a afraid my system will fail as my coil‘s need to be replaced and that’s over $2000. Have photos .I have paid for a yearly maintenance program.Replaced my filters, etc. I am now sick as I have not been using my heat during this cold so I’m praying my military service dog does not get ill. I pray David is unaware of my situation although I contacted him at the corporate office because they will not help me with the coil ‘s. No person should have to have four air conditioners in 15 years.Despite my situation Freedom and I did a lot of volunteer work over the holidays.I wish carrier the best but heartbroken my air/heat are failing and now really sick.Have pic of failing coils too

4 年Would love to hear what the Community Partnerships look like? I serve on a school Board and in the non-profit sector. Would love to see partnerships with schools especially in rural low income areas.
