We've all heard the term "Kaizen," which is a concept employed in many Japanese businesses (and which we also learnt in SCMPE in the CA Final subjects) However, it is worth to note that this is the personal mantra of millions of successful individuals all around you :)
Achievers are dedicated to making improvements on a regular basis. If you wish to be an achiever ask yourself this question:
How can I improve this? How can I do things more quickly and profitably? What can we do to make our lives larger than they were yesterday?"
To thrive in this generation, we must constantly improve; a more committed approach to progress is essential! Here are things to consider:
Firstly make a list of things you'd like to improve on: For example
On a professional level, you'd want to enhance your technical knowledge, computer skills, typing speed, and negotiating abilities. You might want to work on your parenting, communication, and culinary skills at home.
You might want to concentrate on improving your health and fitness, as well as your investing and money management skills. You might only wish to do yoga or pray to achieve inner peace.
Just Ask yourself everyday:

How can I prove myself today? How can I be better than before? How can I learn new skill or develop new competency? With this you embark life long journey of improvement that will ensure success!
Boosting performance with small steps: Small, manageable stages that are easy to master foster the impression that you can develop quickly. When you want to enhance your abilities, change your behaviour, improve your family life, or grow your business, start with modest, doable measures to ensure long-term success.
You can't skip steps: When we don't obtain instant results in this generation of instant gratification, we get frustrated. It's important to remember that becoming a master takes time. You'll need to practice, practice, and practice some more everyday!
Every book you read, every class you attend, and every experience you have - adds to the building block of profession and your life!
Make commitment to keep getting better every day and every way. If you do so you will enjoy increased self-esteem and self confidence that come from self-improvement, as well as the ultimate success that will inevitably follow!
Lastly, Remember! There isn't much of a difference between good and great when it comes to greatness. It simply takes a little bit of extra effort to go from mediocre to exceptional.
