Commitment is an Act, not a word.
Lately being on bed rest, my mind gave me good "food for thought" every now and then. I was willing to pen down the adequate ones only. And this morning, while reading something I came across a term "self commitment". It is very strange that we all have committed something or other to ourselves in some point of our lives. But how many did we actually fulfill? My report card says hardly 50%. But the successful 50% were quite good turning or learning points in my life. Further in order to achieve any process answers to "why" and "how" are important. Here are my answers:
Commitment to Self
Committing to oneself is a powerful act that can transform your life. When you commit to yourself, you prioritize your needs, values, and aspirations. You make a promise to yourself to follow through on your goals and take action towards achieving them. In this article, we'll explore why commitment to self is essential and provide some tips on how to cultivate it.
Why is Commitment to Self is Important?
Boosts Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence: When you commit to yourself, you send a message to your subconscious mind that you're worthy of your own attention and time. As you follow through on your promises, you build trust in yourself and strengthen your self-esteem and self-confidence.
Helps You Reach Your Goals: Committing to yourself means you're willing to invest time, energy, and resources into achieving your goals. It's easy to get side-tracked or distracted, but when you're committed, you stay focused and motivated, even when things get tough.
Improves Your Relationships: When you commit to yourself, you learn to respect and honour your boundaries. You also become more assertive in communicating your needs and wants to others. This, in turn, fosters healthier relationships with others, as you're able to show up as your authentic self.
