Commissioning a new website? Don't forget about the content as well.

A good example from the 3Men2 studio demonstrating the importance of brand and content over the actual design and build of a website (that we were initially commissioned to create).

It never ceases to amaze me how frequently I see content belittled, bumped to the latter part of the project, downgraded to simply be some text and imagery that can be flowed in via the (over-egged) Wordpress. Without complete understanding of your client and their business, and subsequent brand and content creation - you cannot possibly design and build a successful website.

So, here's a snapshot of the old Tuk Shop website pre scrappage, followed by the suped-up new version, and a brief summary of the journey...

BEFORE... charmless and uninspiring:

Tuk Shop… a fun, boutique business importing, selling and customising tuk tuks founded and run by a unique character; "Mr Steve".
The brand identity and website simply did not convey any of the exotic charm and authenticity of these amazing vehicles, the shop and it’s proprietor. In addition, the website did not clearly explain the business offering and services available and it was very difficult to navigate.
We began with the fundamentally important brand identity; by clearly defining Tuk Shop’s brand narrative we were able to design a new brand identity that is both clearly articulate and fun and authentic, making Mr Steve an integral part of the brand’s voice and expression.
We transformed the website by creating a user experience with a clear messaging and calls to action leading to simple, intuitive user journeys and functionality.

AFTER... fun, authentic and now you want one:

Wise words from Mr Steve:

Tukshop has a brand new website that now even works on phones & ipads hurrah! Yes those creative boffins @3mensquared have bought us bang up to date with technology & flair to make buying, hiring or converting a #tuktuk from the UK's pioneers even easier.
