Robert Half Have been Exclusively Appointed to secure a new Commercial Financial Controller for a large US listed business in Birmingham. The role will require a complete build of a new commercial function and significant engagement with non financial stakeholders.
- Lead the creation of budgets and forecasts for sales, customer allowances, cost of sales and distribution costs.
- Consolidate budget and forecast information provided from various sources.
- Develop insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, cost reductions, and other strategic business decisions. Provide analysis and insight to drive value for money in marketing and sales teams.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicator reports that cover all areas of the business, including sales, operations, marketing, buying, product development, CSR, and other functional areas.
- Deliver workload that supports accurate and timely financial data to drive margin growth and assess product and customer profitability.
- Develop and maintain customer cost to serve reporting that accurately calculates the full cost to service major customers, including distribution costs and certain selling and administrative expenses.
- Ensure accurate sales reporting by channel, product, customer, and other reporting streams required by the business.
- Ensure timely and accurate forecasting
- Produce accurate product mix and volume variance reports
- Drive business improvement and be guardian of the integrity of the financial function.
- Deputise for the Finance Director and other members of the Finance team as needed.
- Ensuring maximum value for money whilst minimising risk in line with the Groups aims and objectives
- Prepare reports and materials, and lead presentation of information to key stakeholders during regular meetings as required
- Provide relevant information for the preparation of cash flow and balance sheet forecasts.
- Work closely with Management to build a deep understanding of the business and deliver finance expertise.
- Ad-hoc projects as required.
- CIMA, ACA, ACCA, Qualified or Equivalent
- Excellent all-round Communication skills
- Strong Academics
- Excellent Excel skills and Power BI is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous PLC / PE Backed company experience preferential but not essential
- Previous experience in a US listed business preferential but not essential
- Highly organised with a keen eye for detail
