Commemorating Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the date of the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

Mexico's army won over France during the Franco-Mexican War. Cinco De Mayo is widely interpreted as celebrating Mexican culture and heritage in the United States.

Cinco de Mayo festivities are celebrated throughout the United States and some celebrations are held in regions of Mexico such as in the Pe?on de los Ba?os neighborhood city of Mexico City.

Here are a few images of how people celebrated this past weekend.
