CommAgency members selected for the Hollywood Program
The Penn State Hollywood Program offers juniors and seniors an immersive spring semester experience in the heart of showbiz. This January, four CommAgency members – Brady Bast, Bert Davis, Charles Irven, and Taay Jackson – were selected for the program, where they'll pursue entertainment industry internships while completing relevant coursework.
The program places students in Los Angeles during peak TV production season when networks develop pilot shows for fall lineups and major awards ceremonies occur. Students gain exposure to drama and sitcom production, game and talk shows, entertainment news, publicity, and prestigious events like the Golden Globes, Screen Actors' Guild Awards, Directors' Guild Awards, and the Oscars.
As a Video Project Director at CommAgency and Presidential Scholar & Bellisario Fellow at Penn State, Charles Irvin is ready to take on Hollywood, equipped with the professional skills he's developed through his agency experience.
"CommAgency has taught me the importance of maintaining professional relationships, being a clear and proactive communicator, and delivering results promptly," Irvin said. "The friends I've made here have also inspired me to push the envelope to produce quality work."
Taay Jackson, a senior in CommAgency, is eager to pursue a TV and film development internship at a horror production company. For Jackson, her experience at CommAgency has been "instrumental" in preparing her for this role.
"Through this opportunity, I've gained a deeper understanding of the industry's inner workings and honed my ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams within a company," Jackson said.
CommAgency will miss our members dearly, but we wish them the best of luck in Hollywood!
