"Be curious. Not judgmental." - Walt WhitmanWhen we are leveling up in our work, we often run into a place where what we've done to get where we are isn't enough to get us to where we're going. If you're in the process of growing, you know that it takes a lot to happen: upgrading tech, hiring another level of management, assessing compensation models, and more. You have to grow as an individual and the business also has to grow.It can be overwhelming if we allow ourselves to approach the coming challenges with trepidation. We often are the most judgmental of ourselves, and it can cause us to freeze up or procrastinate when we have to make big decisions. If we learn to change our perspective and give ourselves grace, we can approach growth with curiosity instead of judgment. Curiosity gives us the room to explore new skills?and adapt to new?challenges!I can help you to step into the next level if you need some guidance. Just book a Discovery Call and we'll talk!

From the Desk of Dr. J:
During my time at the Edward Lowe Foundation, I learned to integrate nature and movement into “working on the business” activities that can be mentally and emotionally taxing such as articulating vision and values well enough to yourself that you can build enthusiasm for them in others. Recently I had the opportunity to help a family begin the process of developing a set of family values that will reinforce bonds and help the family navigate difficult or uncertain times. This is a common “best practice” for families in business who seek a healthy family and a healthy business return. One of my unique approaches involves taking the typically verbal activity of values articulation and transforming it into a physical and artistic event involving going into nature and observing, listening and capturing what they discover and curating what they find to share with the group. We will use this foundation to continue to build connection and a common language that goes beyond just words on a page. Every single time I have run this activity I am impressed with the results and how each person contributes. This session didn’t disappoint! I love my job. ??
TESTIMONIAL:
"The StrengthsFinder workshop with Shannon had many lasting effects, our newest employee told me it was really good to learn more about herself and her new?co-workers. It helped her understand what strengths she could bring to the table and how to approach her new co- workers. The whole team gets along pretty amazingly, and I’m sure understanding each of our strengths has really helped." -Christen Carter, President/Owner, Busy Beaver Button Co., REF Indiana, Facilitator Leaders - CIO Forum
