Role Description:

Our ambassadors are an elite group of students who forge new paths for entrepreneurship as they promote Blackstone LaunchPad throughout our campuses and beyond. When you participate in the BLASER Leadership Development Program, you gain important career-building skills and find plenty of opportunities for campus and community involvement.

Students selected as BLASERs assist with our outreach, increasing awareness about the opportunities provided through Blackstone LaunchPad. In exchange, BLASERs receive special training, participate in professional development workshops and leadership assessments, and attend exclusive networking opportunities. Interested students may qualify to earn internship credit for this experience.

Role Description:

We are currently seeking undergraduate students to serve as our Blackstone LaunchPad Student Assistants for project-based student assistant.

The major focus of this position is student outreach and recruitment. Work to be performed includes but is not limited to:

  • Creating marketing materials as directed print, online, and social media platforms.
  • Recruiting students to engage in programming by hosting Pop-up events & tabling.
  • Develop and host LaunchPads events (i.e.: competitions, monthly-pitch competition, Open Coffee Club, and Innovation sprints).
  • Assist with tracking of LaunchPad metrics and registration.
  • Promoting a startup culture on campus and in the community.

Candidates need to have strong oral and written communication skills to be successful in this position. The position may also require other duties as assigned that are needed by the Center and/or tasks that utilize this person's personal interests or talents.

UB graduate students providing free nutrition counseling at Jefferson Ave. Tops

Check out UB Now's?article on a group of UB students who took the initiative to offer free nutrition information and counseling, food samples and store tours at the Jefferson Avenue Tops Friendly Markets on Buffalo's East Side. The store reopened July 15 following extensive renovations after a white supremacist targeted the store on May 14.

“When planning the store reopening, community members listed nutrition as being a priority in the new store experience,” Lewis said, a student in the program who has been coordinating the project along with fellow students. “We want to help make the community members feel comfortable returning to this store.”

43 North is searching for an attentive fall Accounting intern.

Description:

The accounting intern will play a key role in supporting 43North’s Finance team by helping support the grant funding and other key accounting processes. This individual will support the Director of Finance and Operations by aiding in the monthly accounting processes and procedures specifically related to expense reporting and grant reporting.

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Aid in monthly budget report generation to support budget to actual reviews with department heads;
  • Perform monthly budget to actual cash flow analysis for grant tracking and reporting;
  • Support grant submission procedures;
  • Support monthly expense report and payable process including coding expenses to proper general ledger account;
