The giants and smalls lived amongst each other and shared the world as so many of us do. They breathed the same air, had the same opportunities and in so many ways were similar. However, they were massively different in size and in the way they lived.
The giants were always doing great things for others. They loved to explore the possibilities in the world around them. Giants ate amazing foods, saw incredible things, took unbelievable risks, and dreamed impossible dreams. They always thought of others and how they could best serve them. The giant’s hearts were enormous and even if they felt fear, they would push through and be courageous. The giants did things the smalls would rarely consider. They were constantly looking for ways to improve themselves, serve others and make their world a better place. Their giant feet took them down paths of endless possibility and that helped them to reach their stature.
The smalls were afraid to reach out to others. They kept inside their small houses, kept to their small selves, eating small crackers and pea soup and having small talk. They never had any thought of other small neighbors and if they could ever help someone, even in small ways. The Smalls had small hearts and in a small way, felt fear. They were so small they were afraid to do brave things because their minds were small and they had always been small and their parents small so they just went about in a small world, never having the courage to think big thoughts or take big risks. Their small feet led them down the same small paths, never being brave enough to discover big things that would make them bigger in heart and confidence. The curious thing about these creatures was that every one of them was born a small; they were born equal. It was their choices that created the vast differences between them, but the smalls did not remember this....
I wrote this book 10 years ago and it is finally coming alive. I am way excited for it to become available in bookstores everywhere. This book teaches children and adults that all of us have the potential to become giants. Our choices, behaviors, and thoughts determine how we show up in the world. Are you a giant or a small?
