An Aircraft Mechanic's guide to Multi-Objective Evolutionary Optimization with the PHPP, Rhino, Grasshopper and IDF2PH

Hello! I've been putting together some template files and the likes to add some efficiency to the video(s) I've been putting together. A bit of a tutorial, at least a 'this is how I do the things' as it comes to Parametric Passive House, PHPP+Wallacei powered by IDF2PH.

Still working on the video, but I've created a file with a few templates, a list of dependencies, and some additional resources. *Disclaimer being that the 'prices' are semi arbitrary, and no 'real' products are meant to be represented. That can be downloaded here.

What I will be going over is:

  1. Basic intro to all the tools of the workflow: EnergyPlus, Honeybee, Wallacei, IDF2PH, PHPP9.
  2. Setting up and running Evolutionary Multi-Objective studies using the PHPP as an I/O.
  3. Fun, shenanigans, weird movie references, fun graphs, cool data, pretty colors. Lots of coffee.

Now a Keen eye will notice a few things in the following video. That heating demand is way to high! Well, below we don't have any windows or systems, just an envelope and a lot of shading context, in the video to come: we'll take a look at the interesting relationship windows have with the BEM, and how windows are like the porridge in Goldilocks and the three bears. Add different windows, glazing frames ect into the gene pools, as well as some ERV's and see what happens when there is a price tag attached to all of our variables as objectives to be minimized.

Thank you Trevor, I'm getting into this myself too now, mostly IDF2PH, but your 6-part tutorial was really illuminating on the possibilities and how powerful this can be!
