Coming to a small screen near you - Lockdown 2

Coming to a small screen near you - Lockdown 2

The much anticipated sequel to this summer's biggest flop.

As soon as I heard the news on Saturday, I immediately baked Banana Bread – old habits die hard!

The next morning while drinking tea and eating the banana bread, I realised that I had clearly learnt nothing from the first time around. I was still eating cake. I was still worrying about what this would mean financially, what was the impact on the business going to be, when would we run out of toilet rolls?! And then I remembered this “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again”.

Well, I’m determined not to be insane, so no more Banana bread unless it to help someone who is isolating, no more worry about finances but a clear budget based on the facts, no more fear of the impact on my business but a strategy to add value and move things to where I want them to be, and no more toilet rolls…I might need to rethink that last one!

So, what am I going to do?

I’m going to give myself some structure, I’m not going to wait to see what happens and what I feel like doing that day. This time I am pledging to spend:

  • One hour a day making calls to my contacts to check in with them – lets support each other, I’m here if you fancy sharing a cuppa over Zoom
  • One hour a day to work on my business – whether that’s a webinar, time spent looking at my numbers or doing business development
  • One hour a day on personal development – finishing the books I started in Lockdown 1 or learning a new skill
  • One hour a day of fresh air – come rain or shine I’ll be outside embracing the chance to see the last of the autumn leaves fall

What are you going to do differently this time?

Those are some great daily targets. What's different for me this time is that I've got quite a lot of work booked in that's still going ahead. It's a very different lockdown for many businesses.
