Coming Home
It is with deep sorrow and great joy that we celebrate our Dad, Husband and Grandfather as he joined God April 21, 2023. Lloyd Reuss was father to Charlene and Mark, Father-in-Law to Kim and Joel, proud grandfather of Amanda, Nick, Grant, Grace, Sophia, and husband of Maurcine Reuss for 63 years. At 86, he passes peacefully into God’s hands, and is reunited with the love of his life Maurcine.
One of two sons, Lyle and Lloyd were born to Lawrence and Dorthea who ran a garage, appliance store, Chevrolet dealership and farm equipment repair facility in Darmstadt, Illinois. They met and married early in life at the popcorn counter at the local theatre, and from there he served in the United States Army as a lieutenant in Germany.
Upon returning from service, they moved to Detroit with 100 dollars in 1959 to start his career with General Motors at the Milford Proving Grounds. His 36-year career included Chief Engineer roles at Buick and Chevrolet, General Manager of Buick, VP and Group Executive CPC, Executive VP NA Operations, and President- General Motors Corporation.
In May of 1993, Lloyd joined Focus Hope with Father Cunningham and donated his time for many years to establish the Center for Advanced Technologies that in turn granted more than 300 associate and bachelor degrees in engineering to inner-city students.
In this chapter of giving back, Lloyd served as a trustee and Board Chair for Lawrence Technological University, Trustee at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, Vanderbilt University, Cranbrook Educational Community, BOD Detroit Symphony, BOD US Sugar, BOD International Speedway, and an Elder for 1st Presbyterian Church of Birmingham.
He worked hard, yet always had time for us. A role model of integrity, fairness and will be remembered by many for giving back. He lived an amazing life and for that we are eternally grateful.

4 个月YOU ARE A PIG, YOU SEARCH MY ACCOUNT BUT DO NOTHING. GM DOESN'T cares about your safety. $$$$$ is all they care about. My vehicle has been in for service 6 times. The infotainment system locks up, like everything is on mute. I can't use my phone, Instagram or radio. I am a disabled senior citizen, live very rural. What happens if I have an emergency and this freezes? I am afraid to drive this. Dealership doest care and GM just wants payments THEY ARE AWARE THIS VEHICLE HAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND DO NOT CARE. I CAN ONLY GUESS THAT THEY HOPE I DIE IN THIS VEHICLE AND SOMEONE CONTINUES TO MAKE THE PAYMENTS, AND BOY DO YOU WANT THOSE PAYMENTS. THE ONE TIME MY PAYMENT WAS LATE, DUE TO A FAMILY MEDICAL ISSUE, YOU SURE CALLED WANTING MONEY. IT WAS MY ERROR, AND I PAID THE LATE FEE. JUST SHOULD ME THAT GM DOESN'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SAFETY JUST $$$$$$$$$

1 年I did Maurcine's hair for years, and saw Mark at Bills' after Covid when I was with my sister. He recognized me and knew my parents Jim and Rose Ryan. We spoke for a while and then he sent a bottle of wine to our table - what a sweet man, and family. Sending love to the family as my father just passed on August 17th and I saw this while looking for the LTU post about my father that was shared here. May they both RIP. Dawn Sylvester
