That was fast…

“Comedy is now legal,” Elon Musk proudly proclaimed the day after finalizing his purchase of Twitter. But after a week of his leadership that can only be described as utterly chaotic, it looks like Musk is already over it.

Large-scale layoffs, controversial changes to Twitter Blue, and a series of other embarrassing antics from Elon Musk himself led to scores of new memes, as users impersonated Musk to make fun of him.

Elon Musk had turned himself into Twitter’s “main character,” a situation nobody wants to find themselves in. Now, he’s cracking down on impersonation and suspending accounts over it.

So as the company enters a freefall and free speech is seemingly more restricted than before, we can’t help but ask: is this the beginning of the end for Twitter?
