COMBINATION FOOD FOR BETTER ABSORPTION

Foods require a favorable environment inside your body and certain vitamins and minerals to get absorbed. If food doesn't get absorbed in your body, you don't get the health benefits.

Fortunately, you can enhance the absorption of food by combining it with other food that can provide an environment required for their absorption and making the nutrient of the food more available in the blood to get absorbed.

Enlisting few foods combination, which you should eat for maximum health benefits.

  1. Vitamin C (lemon /Amala etc.) + Iron: When you eat vitamin C with iron, it increases the solubility of iron by binding with them. e.g., lemon juice with sprouts, tomatoes with lentils.
  2. Turmeric +black pepper: The active compound present in turmeric (curcumin) is known to have poor absorption in body, but when combine with black pepper the bioavailability of curcumin increases.
  3. Tomato +olive oil: Lycopene is the main carotenoid in tomatoes. This antioxidant is responsible for reducing heart disease and certain type of cancer. Lycopene is a fat-soluble compound which means, it is absorbed better when cooked in olive oil.
