The Islamic Jihad
The word Jihad means: exerting one’s utmost effort through struggle – or exerting one’s utmost effort to reach a noble goal. Before we talk about the meanings of Jihad and its importance in Islam, and the value of martyrs in Islam as well, we must note that the word Jihad is a word that is hated in the West, and in terms of security in the Middle East, and the Mujahideen in the eyes of Muslims are the best people, In the eyes of others, they are terrorists. What is the truth about jihad? Why did the God of Muslims prescribe jihad for Muslims at specific times that the nation goes through? Is Islam the only heavenly religion that has a military wing? Or do all heavenly religions, and even earthly religions, do that? We will discuss the subject in two parts: Part One (Combat jihad, which is the highest type of jihad ever – Part Two: Types of jihad that are equivalent to combat jihad for those who cannot engage in combat jihad.
On the authority of Abu Musa al-Ash’ari - may God be pleased with him - who said:
The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - was asked about a man who fights out of bravery, or fights out of zeal, or fights out of hypocrisy, Which of these is in the way of Allah? The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever fights so that the word of Allah is supreme is in the way of Allah.”
Let's began...
The Intention in Islam
Al-Humaydi Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr narrated: Sufyan narrated:
Yahya bin Saeed Al-Ansari narrated: Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Taymi informed me that he heard Alqamah bin Waqqas Al-Laythi say: I heard Umar bin Al-Khattab On the pulpit he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: Actions are only by intentions, and each person will have only what he intended. So whoever migrates for worldly gain or for a woman to marry, then his migration is to that for which he migrated.
We preferred to start the topic of jihad with intention,
because whoever lives on something dies on it. Perhaps someone was forced to jihad, and his intention was not to raise the word of God Almighty or protect the weak or protect the religion itself or any other possible reasons for him to undertake jihad. And just as God Almighty does not accept polytheism with Him, glory be to Him, He does not accept the martyr unless his intention was for God and His Messenger, even if he died in the arena of jihad. and the evidence is:
On the authority of Abu Hurairah - may God be pleased with him - who said: We witnessed with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said to a man who claimed to be a Muslim: This is from the people of Hellfire. When the fighting came, the man fought fiercely and was wounded. It was said: O Messenger of God, the one to whom you said he was from the people of Hell, he fought a fierce battle today and he died. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: To Hell. He said: Some of the people almost doubted, and while they were like that, it was said that: He did not die, but he was severely wounded. When night came, he could not bear the wounds and killed himself. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was informed of that and he said: God is Great. I bear witness that I am the servant of God and His Messenger. Then he ordered Bilal to call out to the people: No one will enter Paradise except a Muslim soul, and God will support this religion with the wicked man.
The Reward in Islam
Good deed = 10 good deeds/deed
Patience = Unlimited Reward
Ihsan = Ihsan ( Ihsan: benefactions)
Good loan = double the reward + generous reward
Jihad = one degree out of one hundred degrees on the Day of Judgment
In Sahih from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace:
In Paradise there are one hundred levels that God has prepared for those who strive in His cause, between each level is like the distance between heaven and earth.
Why did I start with some types of rewards for deeds in Islam? In Islam, there are two great acts of worship (the worship of merchants and the worship of free people). The bottom line is that the worship of merchants is based on profit and loss (heaven and hell). As for the worship of free people (they worship Allah because He deserves to be worshipped, whether they are given it or not), but of course they wish for Paradise, but they do not work for it, but for Allah. What do most Muslims do? The worship of merchants, so reward is very important in the matter of deeds in Islam. In the second part: You will find deeds equivalent to combat jihad, so that no Muslim, whether a man or a woman, deprives himself of the reward of jihad.
The reward of martyrdom for the sake of Allah
It was proven that he, peace and blessings be upon him, said about the one who is stationed: He is safe from temptation, and his deeds and provisions are sent down to him. The one stationed is less than the martyr. So if this happens to the one stationed, The martyr is expected to do so, and martyrs are promised Paradise, as God Almighty said: And never think that those who are killed in the cause of Allah are dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision. [Al Imran: 169] The martyrs are doing great good, and they have great merit with God, if God corrects their intentions.
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
When your brothers were afflicted at Uhud, Allah placed their souls in the bodies of green birds that frequent go to the rivers of Paradise, eat of its fruits, and take refuge in golden lanterns in the shade of the Throne, when they found their drink and food good and their resting place nice, they said: “If only our brothers knew what Allah has done to us! So that they would not give up on jihad and turn away from war!” Allah the Almighty said: “I will convey it to them on your behalf, Then God Almighty revealed these verses to His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace.
The important of Jihad
Why was combat jihad prescribed in Islam?
For four main reasons:
The first case: the case of self-defense
the Almighty and Exalted - said:
???????????? ??? ??????? ??????? ????????? ???????????????? ???? ?????????? ????? ??????? ?? ??????? ???????????????
And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors
We benefit from the noble verse, the following:
1 - For the sake of Allah: If for personal interests or agendas, there is no reward for it, but rather sin
2 - Those who fight you: No fighting civilians
3 - Condition of fighting: No aggression, and aggression is: armed or unarmed conflict and dispute between two or more individuals or entities
Why?
Because Allah does not love aggressors... It must be a joke that Islam was spread by the sword
Allah the Almighty said:
?????? ???????? ?????????? ??????????? ???????? ???????? ??? ???????? ?????????? ?????????? ??????? ??????????? ????? ??????? ???? ?????????????
?So whoever transgresses against you, transgress against him in proportion to his transgression against you. And pious Allah and know that Allah is with the pious ones
We benefit from the noble verse, the following:
1 - It is the right of a Muslim to respond to aggression with aggression. We do not turn our left cheek to someone who strikes us on the right cheek.
2 - In the same way that you were attacked: no more and no less. If there was an increase: then the Muslim entered into the oppression of his brother, and oppression is darkness on the Day of Resurrection.
3 - The command to pious God: because God Almighty is with the pious one .
What is this... Islam really did not spread by the edge of the sword
The second case: The case of defending the religion
Allah the Almighty said:
??? ??????????? ??????? ???? ????????? ???? ?????????????? ??? ???????? ?????? ????????????? ???? ??????????? ???? ???????????? ???????????? ?????????? ????? ??????? ??????? ?????????????? (8) ???????? ??????????? ??????? ???? ????????? ???????????? ??? ???????? ??????????????? ???? ??????????? ??????????? ????? ????????????? ???? ????????????? ?????? ????????????? ??????????? ???? ????????????? God does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, God loves those who act justly. (8) Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and support others in your expulsion - from making them guardian And whoever makes guardian with them - then it is those who are the wrongdoers. (9)
We benefit from the verses, the following:
1 - Allah the Blessed and Exalted did not forbid righteousness and justice for those who did not expel us from our homes or fight us for our religion. What is righteousness? Righteousness is good character - Righteousness: all kinds of goodness - Righteousness: a cheerful face and a good tongue... As for justice: it is more than justice, it is justice and equality. Who is this, O Lord? For non-Muslims, whatever they are, provided that they did not fight us for our religion and did not expel us from our homes.
2 - When does the Lord the Blessed and Exalted forbid us from taking allies with those who differ from our religion (when they fight us for our religion + support others in expelling us from our homes)? If we did, and took them as allies and made them our allies, we would become oppressors in the eyes of Allah.
The question here is: Did Allah wrong them by doing so? They were not Muslims to begin with. It is truly a joke that Islam spread by the sword.
The third case: The case of defending freedom of belief
Allah says
{??????????? ?????? ??? ????????????? ???? ??????? ?????? ??????? ????????? ??????????? ???? ??????? ??????? ????????????? ?????????? ???? ????????? ??? ??????????????? ??????? ???????????? } [???????: 60]
{And prepare against them whatever force and Horses stationed in the way of Allah you are able to terrify the enemy of God and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know. God knows They} [Al-Anfal: 60]
We benefit from the noble verse
Any readiness and preparation before entering the war, and this is entrusted to the regular army of the country - this is what it should be - what do we do specifically, O Lord:
In the preparation stage
1 - Prepare whatever strength you can: What is strength, strength is denied in Arabic language meaning any kind of strength you possess at the present time, even if it is skill in using social media, a language you possess other than Arabic, scientific strength (PhD ...) physical strength - strength of relationships ... meaning whatever you possess, this is in the preparation stage.
2- From the tether of horses: Here is the military power, and why does the Lord of the Worlds talk about horses? The Qur’an has reached the end of the twenty-first decade and will reach the end of the world. The truth is that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, talks about horses having good tied to their forelocks until the Day of Resurrection, and whoever takes care of horses, especially those tied for the sake of God, will receive such and such a reward... Today, the West has returned to using animals in the largest armies in the world, including horses, especially mules, because they are a hybrid between donkeys (one of the most intelligent animals) and horses, and they are one of the most honorable animals. Therefore, you find mules: stubborn - intelligent - have strong hooves used in rugged places, and teach soldiers patience to stand firm on the battlefield from their frequent treatment to rein in the mules, and God knows best.
Why
Terror in the heart of the enemy, then God Almighty speaks about the hypocrites and the verses are completed... May God save us from hypocrisy and its people
The fourth case: The case of defending the weak
Allah says
????????? ?????????? ???????????? ??????????? ???????? ??????? ??????? ????? ?????????? ?????????? ????????? ?????????? ???? ??????????? ???????? ????? ?????? ???? ????????? ???????? ??????? ???????? ?????? ??????? ???????? ?????????? ???????? ??????????? ????????? ???????? ??????????? ??????????? ???????? ?????? ????? ??????? ???????? ??????????????? ??????? ???? ?????????? ????? ??????? ????????? ??????????
Permission is given to those who are being fought against, because they have been wronged - and indeed, Allah is competent to give them victory - those who have been expelled from their homes without right - only because they say, “Our Lord is Allah, And were it not that Allah checks some people by means of others, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allah is much mentioned would surely have been pulled down. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Mighty.
We benefit from the noble verse, the following :
“People are for people, from Arabs to non-Arabs. So what about a Muslim for a Muslim? Today, the oppressed Muslims are everywhere. In Myanmar, in India, and in China, there are re-education camps. In Afghanistan, there is extreme poverty. In Somalia, Chad, and elsewhere, the Muslim slaves are more numerous than the people of the country. Palestine and Sudan are a matter of course. The oppressors in China are under fire. If God did not repel people by means of others, the entire earth would have been corrupted. Today, there are many spots on earth where Muslims are placed in extreme humiliation and oppression. May God relieve the oppressed.”
Now,
Is jihad still jihad if the other party asks for a truce? No
For God Almighty said
"??? ????? ????? ????? ??? ????? ??? ???? ??? ?? ?????? ??????" (??????? 61)
"But if they incline to peace, then incline to it and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing." (Al-Anfal 61)
The ethics of war among Muslims
Not killing the elderly, women and children
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace
said (in the narration of Abu Dawud): (Do not kill an old man, nor a child, nor a child, nor a woman)
Do not kill worshipers
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Go out in the name of God and fight in the cause of God. Do not transgress, do not exaggeration, do not mutilate, do not kill children, and do not kill the people of monasteries
Do not kill treacherously
Do not drown palm trees or burn them, do not hamstring an animal or a fruit-bearing tree, and do not demolish by me
Spending on the captive
Allah says
????????????? ?????????? ?????? ??????? ?????????? ?????????? ??????????}
{And they give food, in spite of their love for it, to the poor, the orphan, and the captive.}
Do not mutilate the dead, do not plunder what is not yours
“The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade looting and mutilation.” (Bukhari) (Nuhba: taking something that does not belong to someone openly, and mutilation: mutilating the victim by cutting off some of his limbs.
Wars of the Prophet Muhammad - may God bless him and grant him peace
The wars of the Prophet Muhammad - may God bless him and grant him peace
The battles of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - were not to seize lands, kill innocents, or shed blood. Rather, they were defensive or preventive wars to prevent an attack on him or on Islam. There is no dispute that Mecca began by opposing him, persecuting him, and trying to eradicate him, and the tribes of the Arabian Peninsula followed suit.
Thank you...
