To Combat HIV & Infectious Disease Spread in India: “Abbott and YRGCARE Opens Two Care Centers”

雅培 , a US-based medical device?manufacturer, and YRGCARE , a non-profit organization that helps people living with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), announced the opening of two new HIV treatment centers in India.

The two new outreach facilities, located in Delhi and Mizoram, will provide testing, treatment, and support to curb the spread of HIV and other infectious illnesses throughout the nation, according to YRGCARE. Through a comprehensive strategy, the effort seeks to improve the lives of approximately 2500 individuals in these cities over the next year. Apart from conducting tests, the organization also assists in connecting patients to government-managed OST (Opioid Substitution Therapy) and ART (Antiretroviral Therapy), as well as TB treatments when necessary.

Considering the launch, Sunil Solomon, YRGCARE Chairman, stated, “HIV epidemics are still a public health concern in India because migration makes it easy for infections to spread from one region to another. The provision of testing services at centers will also help inform the emergence of new strains and the need for new diagnostics. These facilities serve as examples of the kind of innovation that is needed to address viral transmission among harder-to-reach populations that continue to experience high rates of HIV and hepatitis.”
