Colour me in

I remember in 2003 reading my first colour “coding” book when I first launched House of Janine, I was totally inspired by everything in that book however the one thing that perturbed me was the colour classification – summer, autumn, winter, spring – I mean who came up with that?? I would agree that the only season with particular colour palette in it is autumn. A gorgeous collection of leaf and tree hues that are indicative of the season and particular time of year – now that I can get behind. When I first created our iconic colour palettes, I was determined to create something that was tailored to our South African Nation. Our colour palettes span from the ice-cream blonds to the ebony dark skinned goddesses of our nation – we have cold and warm colour palettes and we have a range of around 25 colours in each palette chosen to… now here is the no. 1 rule… wear close to your face.
