If you are an elder in the service of God, Colossians is an excellent place to study up on what's required of you.
If you are a child of God being served by faithful elders, Colossians is an excellent place to study up on what's required of you.
Here's a snippet from that epistle:
Colossians 1:1-2 (HCSB) Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will, and Timothy our brother: To the saints in Christ at Colossae, ?who are? faithful brothers. Grace to you and peace from God our Father.
Colossians 1:9-14 (HCSB) For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing ?to Him?, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light. He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves. We have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, in Him.
The elders encourage and pray for the saints, who seek after Christ to grow in grace and knowledge of Him. All for His glory.
And this is an excellent book to shed light on these topics: https://www.amazon.com/Portrait-Paul-Identifying-Minister-Christ/dp/1601780907/?fbclid=IwAR2eQf-SNQ8Nha18cFRIB1SKfHqIgj5-iHBfFoXT8yWBDjdJrRlvtXIeqPY
Peace and grace to the brothers and sisters.
