The most important rules for choosing colors in the design.
Colors are one of the basic and most important elements identifying the project. The choice of colors is also one of the key stages of creating a design.
There are basic rules for choosing colors. Knowing them, it is easier to develop a color taste. In addition, by referring to the rules that we will present in a moment, we make the right choices faster and it is easier to get inspiration when working on the color palette.
Here are four color selection rules:
1. Analogous rule
It consists in the selection of colors that appear next to each other at fixed intervals. Such a color palette can create any number of colors, but for the purposes of projects, we recommend limiting it to 3-6 samples. The selection of colors using an analogous method gives the recipient a sense of harmony. This is not surprising, because the colors lying next to each other on the color wheel are also found in nature, which makes the graphics look natural.

2. Complementary rule
Complementary colors are colors that lie on opposite sides of the color wheel. Such colors are matched in pairs, so sometimes it is worth creating more than one pair of complementary colors. In this rule, the colors are very contrasting with each other, so they are suitable for bold, modern and expressive projects.?
3. The separable-complementary rule
The separable-complementary principle is, in a sense, the inverse of the complementary principle. Using it, we do not get such a great color contrast as in the above-mentioned one. In this rule, we choose the base color - on the basis of which we will choose the next two colors. Set the angle - deviation, e.g. 40 degrees. This gives us two more colors. This gives us two more colors. The next step in choosing a color is a variant of a lighter shade of the selected colors - closer to the center of the circle.
4. Color triad
The rule based on which we choose three colors. The principle is simple: we choose colors by jumping 120 degrees on the color wheel. The colors obtained in this way are a good combination of the complementary and analogous rules.
Below are four color selection rules. It's worth knowing them, but in practice manually selecting colors using the above rules is not very convenient and takes a lot of time.
