Color Schemas in Digital Camera
How do we see colors?
As a fresh air hobby, I just tested several Color Schemas.
My vision is to represent nature as it is - without artificial additions. Standard Schema (STD) is too flat for and it appears for eye like missing something we would like to show. Predefined color schemas are:
I focused on 3 types: Velvia (Vivid), Astia (Astia/Soft Standard),Negative Standard Pro. Other are of course ok, but I wanted to show exactly what I see in JPG file.
In documentation or in guides, all were perfect for manipulation of colors. So I tested on 3 basic colors: green, blue and yellow.

Here is the effect on green grass.

Color Simulation: Astia (Standard)
There is no sense to over saturate green. Last post also showed that similar effect is with red, yellow and blue for city architecture.
Conclusion: Vivid ... is not proper for landscapes. It is more suitable for art.

And all color schemas for different landscape - just to compare with your eyes. (Setting automatic). The problem I see is that colors are differently presented on EV, LCD, Monitor...

Conclusion: Based on color schemas, we achieve different effects. Psychology of color play significant role. Probably age of eye also play significant role.
People over 60 see colors shifted to more brown, so usually they love bright and vivid colors. Young people love something more based on the standard 16 basic colors.
Interesting thing is that manufacturers try to simulate classic film colors - like Negative Standard or Classic Chrome. My opinions is - it is more to tune to imagination of the people used to see some colors or just to get some effect of classic film exposure process. I am more focused to show the reality 1:1, not to change reality.
If you have 10 seconds of time - write in comment - which colors are you preferring for landscapes based on examples above.
P.s.
1.Colors from Fujifilm X-T1. In you digital camera you can have quite different effect - sensor, conversion of light, lenses.
2. As you can see Brandenburgia (all around Berlin but outside Berlin) is very beautiful and there are plenty of places which confirm it is not flat but with small heights up to 30 meters.
