Our special guest will be Bishop Robert Locklear. He is the pastor of New Birth Apostolic Church in the city of Raleigh, NC. We will talk about the significant role that African American Clergy play in the lives of their members with mental illness. Bishop Locklear is a graduate of the Apex School of Theology in Durham, NC. His Dissertation “A Model of Pastoral Care for African American Pastors in Wake County, NC with Depression “ was recognized by his Doctoral Mentors for its research qualities in Leading for Congregational Change.
During the discussion I will read an excerpt from “The Color of HOPE” Chapter Three – The Black Church a Change Agent. Those who attend could win a signed copy of The Color of Hope or a $25 Amazon gift card. Winners will be chosen randomly at the end of each discussion.
