Collins Aerospace continues to bring NP2000 propeller system benefits to U.S. Air Force aircraft
Through its advanced NP2000 propeller system, Collins Aerospace continues to provide C-130 fleets of the U.S. Air Force with a modern product that not only reduces maintenance time and cost, but also enhances crew comfort and safety.?
With its eight composite blades and digital Electronic Propeller Control System, NP2000 offers several benefits compared to legacy systems, including a 20 percent thrust increase during take-off and a 20db sound reduction in the cockpit. And because the composite blades can be removed individually without the need to remove the entire system, maintenance time is reduced by 50 percent while extending the lifecycle of aircraft fleets.??
In addition to the recently announced $135 million IDIQ contract with the U.S. Air Force in which Collins will manufacture and support new NP2000 propeller systems, including the electronic control system and spares, the company recently signed a second contract for NP2000 repairs with a ceiling of more than $140 million.??
“This is our first-ever direct contract with the U.S. Air Force for sustainment and repair of NP2000 components,” said Quinlan Lyte , senior director for Propeller Systems at Collins Aerospace. “Doing so will continue to support the longevity of America’s C-130 fleet.”?

1 年C-130's were the first aircraft I worked on when I joined the Air Force. I worked on the old E models at LRAFB. Great aircraft and now I work for an awesome company that makes them even better. Blessed to work for Collins Aerospace!
