Please recall a time when you gave a speech in front of a group. What was the speech about? How many people were in your audience? Were you able to prepare for the speech or was it more impromptu? How did you feel? What was your experience? What did you learn from your experience??
When I took Public Speaking, I had to give a speech where we had to choose (and vote) where our taxpaying money should go towards. Obviously, everybody voted ‘No’ on nearly every topic. The speech I delivered was agriculture because that is the lifeblood of countless global economies. Before the actual speech in front of approximately 25 students, we were split into groups and discussed our opinions, and I felt confident in mine because it made sense, and I knew nobody else was going to consider agriculture. I was a bit nervous, but as I went through my points, I calmed down and delivered a solid speech and received a solid grade. I learned that not only practice eliminates fear, but facts also eliminates fear.?
