As the job market continues to expand and more and more people are quitting their jobs, you can’t help but to wonder what’s exactly going on? In the world of millennials & Gen Z there has been a huge surge in the world of entrepreneurship. A common theme of you don’t need college to be successful anymore. College isn’t a scam by any means. As a graduate from University of Texas at San Antonio majoring in business management college was a place for me to grow and network with like minded individuals while founding my own business and building a personal brand. College is an investment into self to set your future up for success. It’s like the spending money to make money model. You spend money in student loans to give yourself the opportunity to earn a salary post graduation to finance your life and chase your dreams. Colleges have free resources, networking events & access to leaders in the industry at your disposal for you to take advantage of during your tenure. College is what you make it. The key piece to a successful college career is choosing the right major. A lot of times students may choose something that doesn’t have a huge need in society and doesn’t provide and affordable living. Now you may say society can be to blame for not paying enough but certain fields don’t produce enough money it’s vital to choose something with sustainability. College sets you up for the next big thing, the next big job, the next big business. It’s the stepping stone into your career.?

Becoming an internet sensation has been the “it” thing to do since the pandemic opened up a slur of online businesses. The idea of rolling right into entrepreneurship disregarding education works for some people but not everyone. The key to a successful business and entrepreneurship is to solve a problem. Before thinking of leaving your job or skipping college to build a business think about what problem you exactly will be solving. If your sole intent is to make money create different streams of income, which is different from sole entrepreneurship. A key reminder is that you must have money to make money. This can be from saving from your job or maybe a loan, business credit line etc.?
In a functional world we need both occupations to operate. We need our creative entrepreneurs to create trends, products & services for us to live and utilize. We need our college leaders to go into the workforce to create change and provide opportunities for others. Instead of being on opposite sides it’s important to join forces and push our communities and economy forward. For any aspiring entrepreneur or college student, continue chasing your success and following the path that’s easy for you to get to your goals. Whether that’s being in college or being an entrepreneur, we need your GIFT.?
