2 周I have students reading on a 3rd grade level in 9th grade, throwing college work at these kids is monumentally stupid. Increasing the number of kids in AP without giving them a stronger foundation in elementary and middle school is just going to water down AP, not bolster students. We need to be sure we're supporting students in the lower grades before we pass them along to the next grade. This working backwards mentality is just showmanship, so we can say "Look how many kids we have taking these courses! Don't look at how many are able to pass the test, just look at our enrollment numbers!"
