College, Career Readiness & Success

Preparing students for successful and fulfilling lives is what education is all about. The best way to provide students with the academic skills, essential skills (EQ), executive functioning skills, and the motivation to achieve their goals, is to help them to see the connection between school and the real-world. And, the more that we can help develop students' strengths and interests, the easier it will be for students to plan their future and attain their life and career ambitions.

Of course, in helping our students become more self-aware and develop a greater self-efficacy on how to achieve their goals, is not just a gift to our individual students, but also our regional, state and national economy as there will be a better prepared workforce for the high demand careers that are needed to sustain a thriving economy. It's win-win.

Career Technical Education = Success

CTE has also been proven to help students become college & career ready, as listed under the State Priorities in the ED Code. Specifically, CTE does the following:

Improves success in college

  • More likely to go to college or postsecondary program — 79 percent go within two years
  • Maintain a higher GPA
  • More likely to stay in college

Improves success in work and life

  • 95 percent of CTE students who did not go to college worked for pay within two years of high school graduation.

Increases Career Readiness

  • Experts project 47 million job openings. About one-third will require an associate’s degree or certificate and nearly all will require real world skills that can be mastered through CTE.

Provides Students with Essential Skills (EQ)

  • CTE provides students with not only career and academic skills, but soft skills that are needed for the modern workplace, such as: critical thinking; communication; team work; citizenship, integrity, and ethical leadership; research tools; creativity; and innovation.

Classroom to Career Pipeline

Schools around the country are putting additional emphasis on CTE; which is helping to empower students for post-secondary success. At Transfr, Virtual Reality simulations align to all of the high-demand, high-wage jobs, and can be a tremendous resource for schools. Transfr's immersive simulations have many benefits for schools implementing high-quality CTE Programs:

  • Students can explore a variety of different careers and on-the-job tasks
  • Experience the “Day in the life” of high demand careers (some jobs, like being on a construction site, or helping with a surgery, would not be safe or allowed due to age and or confidentiality; providing exposure that would be impossible for students to do otherwise)
  • Master skills & build confidence that students will need provide direction and to eventually get hired
  • Safety
  • Cost Effectiveness

Transfr's mission is: Everyone should be able to find a well-paying job and find a path to prosperity.
