When they say "stay in college as long as you can" - really, you should stay as long as you can.
All jokes aside, my 5 years as a San Jose State Spartan were some of the best times of my life. From studying abroad, playing intramurals, homecoming games and even late night study sessions in the library with classmates, they are all awesome memories and experiences that I'm thankful for.
To all my peers on that college grind, here are my 4 tips/advice to get through the rest of your semesters:
- Sh*t Happens - excuse my language, but I know from experience, that college can be tough. We might fail classes or even make bad decisions, but sometimes the best lessons are learned outside of the classroom. So dust off your shoulder and come out stronger.
- Get Involved - don't just go to school to go to school. Get the most out of your college investment. Join a student organization, try Greek life or maybe simply attend a school event. Take advantage of the countless opportunities college provides for you to experience new things and meet new people.
- Make Friends - The Right Friends - this may sound elementary, but kick it with the right crowd. Make friends who will study hours with you in the library and be your buddy and attend school activities, not the ones who just want to sit around all day. Surround yourself with other motivated people who can help you become a better student and person.
- FINISH STRONG - going to college is an accomplishment in itself, not everyone can get up, go to class and study to do well. Always think of why you're going to school and where you want to be in the future. It might not seem like it now, but the classes you take and the experiences you have in college will prepare you for the real world. So do what you have to do and cross that finish line. You got it.
I hope this post encouraged all my peers in college to do well and enjoy it! Trust me, I already miss the #collegelife. If you want to watch my advice, check out the vid. Thanks for reading/watching! #
