Collective Wisdom
Today's devotional is from A Daily Taste of Proverbs
“. . . rebuke a discerning man, and he will gain knowledge†- 19:25.
Each of us has a point of view and we are usually convinced it is on the side of truth and accuracy. While it may be part of the truth, it may not be all the truth there is to see, which is why we need to hear and consider the perspective of others. All of us are smarter than one of us, which means you can't learn in isolation. You need others not just to rebuke you when you are doing wrong, but also when you are not doing the purposeful things you were created to do.
Who is close enough to you to rebuke you? Do you make it easy for them to give you input? Do you listen? Is there anything you can learn from how Paul rebuked Peter at Galatians 2:11-14?
