Collections of Thomas Hope, Lansdowne, Hamilton, Jenkins, and Cavaceppi

Do these collection names mean anything to you?

If not, that’s OK. They didn’t mean anything to us either before I read this article from Christie’s.

As a broker of exclusive contemporary fine art, I find that a good number of sculptures have at one point in their career looked to the Greek and Roman classical sculptures as a point of reference and inspiration. Inspiration derived from these long passed original masters can launch any career.

The contemporary sculpture understands and appreciates these roots.

They alone hold the key to understanding how the Greek and Roman Classic artists have shaped their work. While viewing their work we ask ourselves, "Have they reacted against, incorporated into, or attempted to replicate these classic standards?"

Contemplate their work to answer this for yourself.

We can see the current works of Shray Bronze echo Roman and Greek tendencies to evoke love and beauty. The work is unique to her sensibilities and rooted in the contemporary genre of sculpture.

We are always learning and encourage you to do the same.
