Collection for Dogs Trust Manchester
Rachel Rodgers
Clinical Animal Behaviourist at Nose To Trail Founder of The Canine School of Trailing Head of Training for Napo.
In October this year, the Extended Diploma in Animal Management year 2 students on the Companion Pathway at Reaseheath College collected toys and treats for the puppies at Dogs Trust Manchester.
The centre based in Denton, Manchester opened in October 2014 and has a team of 40 dedicated staff.
Module Lead for Kennel and Cattery Management, Rachel Rodgers was approached by Kerrianne Thomasson a Canine Carer for Dogs Trust after the centre came to care for a large number of abandoned puppies and was in desperate need for toys to keep the youngsters entertained. The Kennel and Cattery students donated a large number cuddly toys, tennis balls, tuggers and treats which were taken to the centre over half term.
Julia Yould from Dogs Trust said “Thanks so much for all the presents – they are amazing and will be really appreciated by the dogs. It’s so important they have things to keep them occupied whilst they are in kennels so toys are just wonderful!”
