Purpose of Corrugating Roll Maintenance

  • Extend the service life of corrugating rolls
  • Improve the quality of corrugated boards and enhance the efficiency of the corrugating line
  • Reduce the costs caused by abnormal factors during the use of corrugating rolls
  • Ensure optimal performance of the corrugating rolls

Maintenance Details

1. Corrugating Roll Surface Cleaning

  • Regularly clean debris from the surface of the corrugating rolls (Frequency: once per day).
  • Inspect and clean each suction hole individually (for internal suction corrugating rolls) (Frequency: twice per week).
  • Disassemble and clean the suction device, then reinstall it after cleaning (Frequency: once every two weeks).

2. Pressure Adjustment Based on Paper Width, Speed, and Board Material

  • Adjust the pressure to the lowest level that ensures proper board formation based on paper width, machine speed, and board material (Frequency: once per day).

3. Washing of Equipment

  • Rinse the glue roll and glue pan with water. Avoid splashing cold water onto the corrugating roll surface to prevent damage to the tungsten coating.
  • Clean the surface of the corrugating rolls with steam to ensure no debris is left behind.

4. Parallelism Inspection and Adjustment of Corrugating Rolls

  • Regularly check the parallelism of the corrugating rolls using carbon paper.
  • If any deviation is detected, adjust it through the upper roll eccentric pin (Frequency: once per week).

5. Regular Application of Specialized Silicone Oil on Roll Surface

  • Evenly apply a specialized silicone oil on the roll surface to form a protective layer (Frequency: every 5 million meters of paper processed).

6. Regular High-Temperature Lubrication of Bearings

  • If lubrication is insufficient, add high-temperature grease in time (Frequency: once every two weeks).

7. Regular Inspection of Copper Blades

  • Inspect each copper blade regularly. If any blade is worn or deformed, replace it promptly (Frequency: once per week).

8. Regular Inspection of Rotary Joints

  • Check the rotary joint and hose for steam leaks. If leaks are found, tighten the connection (Frequency: once per week).

9. Regular Inspection of Vacuum Pumps and Sealing Devices

  • Ensure the vacuum pump and sealing devices are functioning properly.

10. Regular Inspection of Air ducts

  • Check the air ducts for bends or wrinkles. Replace them promptly if any issues are found (Frequency: twice per month).

Other Important Considerations

  1. Avoid applying pressure to the corrugating roll and pressure roll when there is no paper present to prevent rigid contact between the rolls.
  2. Adjust the cylinder pressure according to the changing width of the paper being processed. The narrower the paper, the lower the pressure should be.
  3. For narrow paper widths, excessive wear can occur in the center of the rolls, causing slower operation and deteriorating board quality. Eventually, the rolls will need to be replaced if left unchecked.
  4. Ensure enough cooling time when stopping the machine to prevent deformation of the corrugating rolls and damage to the tungsten carbide coating.
  5. Avoid hard objects falling between the rolls to prevent damage to the corrugating rolls.
  6. If frequent paper breaks or poor board quality occur after long-term use, replace the corrugating rolls promptly.
  7. Regularly train operators to ensure proper handling and maintenance.
