9/1/2024 update: Collection of Book Recommendations by Hue Chen

Here is a list of books that I have read over the years (mostly Audible audio books). I would love to be able to write summaries of my thoughts and take-aways of each book, perhaps one of these days I will have the time to do that. Books are one the lowest hanging fruit for you to harvest in order to improve yourself and increase your wisdom. I try to get through a dozen books a year. Since I am very involved in operating commercial real estate, most of these books are related to how to improve business and operations. If you think someone will find value from this list, please share it with them. I will continue to add to this list several times per year.

I love the Kindle app—you can highlight and make notes and send yourself a PDF of your notes. Walter Isaacson is brilliant—Truman, Einstein, Jobs, Ben Franklin(5 stars). Everyone in retail should read The Everything Store by Brad Stone. The Merchant Princes by Leon Harris. It's another great one for retail real estate pros- it's about the history of the Jewish immigrant families who built America's great department stores. (Malcolm Gladwell recommended). For your spiritual journey, CS Lewis's Mere Christianity is a must-read. I think you would also enjoy Thomas Merton's The Seven Story Mountain. Merton's conversion Story. Check it out. I look forward to hearing other recommendations!
