How to Get Logs from a Mac Enrolled in Intune

1. Using Intune Shell Scripts:

• Sign in to the Microsoft Intune admin center.
• Navigate to Devices > Scripts and select a macOS shell script.
• In the Device status or User status report, choose a specific device.
• Click Collect logs and provide the folder paths of log files. Separate multiple paths using semicolons without spaces or newlines.

2. IntuneMacODC (Intune MacOS One Data Collector):

• IntuneMacODC is a support tool designed to gather system information and logs from MacOS devices managed by Intune.
• Run the following commands in the Terminal to use IntuneMacODC:

 curl -L https://aka.ms/IntuneMacODC -o IntuneMacODC.sh
 chmod u+x ./IntuneMacODC.sh
 sudo ./IntuneMacODC.sh        

• The script will create a zip file named IntuneMacODC.zip containing the collected data.

3. Company Portal Application:

• The Intune Company Portal app plays a crucial role in device registration and log collection.
• Here’s how to collect logs using the Company Portal: Open the Company Portal app on the Mac. Go to the Help menu and select Send diagnostic report. Wait while the Company Portal app logs are sent to Microsoft support and Intune Company Portal developers.

4. Additional Tips:

• MacOS Authentication and Registration: Device registration relies on the Login keychain. Ensure that the Intune Company Portal app is used for device registration during JamF enrollment. Note that there is no broker on MacOS, and users may encounter KeyChain access password prompts.
