Welcome to summer and the second half of the year! I can't believe that we are already halfway through 2023!
Time seems to move so quickly, especially if we don’t take the time to reflect on what we’ve already accomplished this far in the year. In today’s newsletter, we are going to dive into the art of self-reflection and renegotiation when it comes to our goals.
July 1 marks the start of the new quarter and the second half of the year, and our brain tends to interpret it as a signal that we should be halfway to our goals.
If you are halfway towards your goals, congratulations! That is absolutely amazing!
Even with that level of success, it is essential to pause midway through the year to collect the evidence of what you have done well so far. This will enable you to continue replicating what is working for the remainder of the year. Remember, there is always room for improvement! Taking some time to slow down and assess what is working and what is not applicable to your goals, regardless of where you are in your goal trajectory.
If you are not halfway to your goals at this point in the year, there is no need to panic! After taking some time to slow down and reflect on all the evidence supporting your successes thus far, you will feel better about where you are right now. We always have something to celebrate, and there is always room for improvement. Instead of viewing it as a problem or a reflection of who you are as a human being, let's take some time to practice collecting evidence that you are, in fact, successful in many ways. Evaluate what you can continue to grow in that success, what areas you might want to pivot, shift or renegotiate, and analyze your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors concerning your business and goals.
Renegotiation around your goals does not mean changing your goals. It means changing your perception of where you are in relation to your goals and how tightly you are holding onto them, as holding on too tightly may actually push them further away.
This month, I had the opportunity to do this exercise live and in person at the amazing Next Level Mastermind retreat for female experience entrepreneurs. After spending an entire day grounding and setting their intentions for the second half of the year, we dedicated some time to sorting through what's working and what wasn't. We concluded the retreat on the third day with this exercise, which I am now sharing with you through this newsletter completely free!
I encourage you to listen to the attached audio to deepen your understanding of the idea of gathering evidence. Then, dive into this exercise for yourself to engage in some self-reflection about where you are right now.
If you would benefit from more support in this process, I'm happy to report that I will be offering a completely free webinar for women business owners to dive more deeply into Strategic Self-Reflection to finish the year strong in a game changing webinar:
