I have finished it and highly recommend it. I like the ways that the examples build upon the skills you learn. It shows me that there is still a lot more dynamic processes that power query is capable of. Thank you for writing the book

This beauty arrived today after preordering it! Someone is going to have fun in the next few months - I am super impressed by the work of Gil Raviv - One of his suggestions (not sure if it also in the book) on how to transform a crosstab/pivot table format into a flat table using some tricks and the glorious unpivot feature helped me solve what looked like an unsolvable problem! ??

Gil I just passed page 50 and I wanted to let you know I’ve already added 3 additional tricks to my M arsenal. I greatly appreciate your dedication to the M language so early on in the book and as someone who spends ample time in the Advanced Editor this was exactly the type of book the community needed.

I just got mine today and am floored! This is the PowerQuery book I have been wanting for over 3 years. The data monkey book and the programming reference manual was pretty much the only available references outside of blogs. Both are useful, but lacking in different ways. This book gives insights into M that would be extremely difficult to attain without Gil’s assistance. Deep, but accessible. Seriously great book!

How you wrote such an amazing book in such a short time is incredible! Glad to see you following up with Errata and extra materials in your blog. This technology is a game changer and your book is a big assist in learning the skills required to use it. Thank you Gil

I do not write reviews but in this case I'm making an exception. I have spent a good portion of my holiday break absorbing the lessons from this material and applying them to my Power BI models. I hadn't intended to spend so much of my vacation working the exercises but I found that each chapter explored a new idea and each left me wanting to know more. I would put the book down for a couple hours but between all the food and family I kept escaping to my quiet place to 'check' the next chapter. There is no coal in this book. On New Years evening I tried to open it again but got dirty looks from my sweetie. But honey, I explained, this is the champagne that turns my ugly work days into gold. She squeezed my hand (the one with the mouse in it), looked deep into my eyes and told me it's time to Collect, Combine, and Transform.
