Collaborative robots 'cobots'? are dramatically changing our workplace.
cobots are the future of work

Collaborative robots 'cobots' are dramatically changing our workplace.

We are living through an exciting era of unprecedented and accelerating change. It is special to witness the changes that technology has brought. More, and simpler to use technology is available now than at any point in history.

If we are to transform society then we need to learn to ‘work with’ new innovative technologies (e.g., ABB's collaborative robots).

To meet the hastening needs of our society, #robotics must become part of our team and work side by side with us. They must share our work and expertise in record time.

People have been working with machines for decades. But in recent years machines have become a lot more capable, friendly, and intuitive.?

Collaborative robots, or 'cobots', are a next generation robot. They can be designed to work and interact with people to help them be more productive.

Cobots can be taught to complete tasks more quickly and easily than at any stage in their history.?And they can be taught tasks that people don’t want to do.?

Cobots are not a new technology. It has been more than 47 years since commercial microprocessor controlled industrial robots went into production.?

Innovative companies like ABB have produced microprocessor controlled #collaborativerobots for decades. This has enabled businesses to dramatically improve their work, processes, and productivity.?

Collaborative robots can be engineered to work independently of people. But more usually they are designed to work in cooperation with people. Think Star Wars C3PO (independent) or R2D2 (helper robot who needs told what to do).

They excel at a huge range of complex, repeatable tasks in manufacturing operations of every size.?

Today, cobots have enabled massive leaps in manufacturing productivity by facilitating far greater co-operation between robotic and human workers.?But for robotics to be more usable than ever before, automating tasks should above all else be one thing, and that is simple to complete.?

As the technology advances, cobot programming complexity is being abstracted, made intuitive and simple.?For example, ABB’s cobots can now be ‘trained’ by anyone to work with people using wizard-based, graphical software.

First-time users can train cobots to complete a wide variety of tasks. They can do this without the need for specialist programming knowledge. This opens the possibility of everyone owning a collaborative robot.?

?As a result, cobots offer an amazing range of business, social and industrial applications. For example, cobots can automate dangerous, dull, and dirty tasks in a factory or work collaboratively with a health professional in a microbiology laboratory.

COPAN ensures safety for its employees while maintaining the highest level of productivity using ABB cobots.

Cobots provide the opportunity for businesses to push the boundaries of technology. This will help firms significantly improve performance, shape new business models, and find new innovative ways of working that will dramatically benefit both businesses and society.?

Our imagination will be the only limit to what can be achieved with collaborative automation technology.

Conclusion:

It is inevitable that 'cobots' become part of our everyday lives.?Automation and economic growth go hand in hand. Humanity needs to learn to work side by side with collaborative robotic technology if we are to live the exciting and productive lives we want to live.??

Industrial robots, such as those developed by Zurich headquartered ABB, have significantly improved the nature of work, and have enabled us to advance as a society.?Not only are collaborative robots the future of work, but they are available now.??

Now we are on the cusp of truly collaborative automation in our factories, offices, and homes.?A collaborative automation process means extraordinary speed, productivity, and flexibility

Cobots, such as ABB’s truly collaborative Yumi robot, will allow us to increase productivity, optimise our performance as well as take our personal and business lives to the next level.? And instead of having to compromise, we will get the best of both human and robotic automation solving problems together.?
