Collaboration Across Borders
THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS

Collaboration Across Borders

I wrote last week that I was heading to Dublin to meet with some of our EMEA clients and my BNY Mellon colleagues. This was a multipurpose visit, one that provided me an opportunity to meet face to face with our clients, while also spending time onsite collaborating and knowledge sharing with BNY teams. We covered topics such as intermediary onboarding, NSCC trading and functionality, and where the industry is going. All as we look ahead and continue to lead the way in the Global Transfer Agency space.

I know we felt going in that the client meetings would be productive, but we came away with so much more than anticipated. I found the time spent both informative and educational, as we shared information about our support model under the BNY Mellon Global Transfer Agency. We had the opportunity to listen intently, as each client shared with us their desire to grow distribution through an NSCC model, that would be both efficient and provide an excellent customer experience. We know that our clients look to BNY for our expertise and guidance through the onboarding and regulatory hurdles that can come up. My colleagues in Ireland are the best in the business and have created an adaptive process to deal with the challenges of things like the AML4 directive. Once our clients onboard a new intermediary, it's at this point that our dedicated intermediary support team jump in to provide support for anything and everything that the intermediary may need. This team acts as the dedicated point of contact for intermediaries, a single resource for all BNY clients regardless of where a fund may be domiciled. Together our global teams work with our clients to help grow their distribution and our support of the intermediaries selling their products, ultimately make it easier to do business with BNY clients.

The week went by quickly, but we were able to fit a lot, into a short period of time. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and hospitality of everyone that I was able to spend time with. I have to especially thank Olga Finn, Michelle Creighton, Jim Fitzsimons and Nicola Costello for setting up the schedule for the week and making sure that we made the most of every minute. I also want to thank all of the wonderful people that make up our operational teams in Ireland, that I had the pleasure of meeting and collaborating with this week. You are truly the best at what you do and you make BNY better everyday!

Lastly, I could not end without mentioning the importance of the in person meeting. As many of you know, I've written about the importance of these meetings several times before. This past week has just reaffirmed my feelings on this topic tenfold. Having the opportunity to share a table with a client or colleague, whether you've worked with them for a few months or several years, is a rewarding experience for which there is no substitute.

Cheers to everyone I met this week. I look forward to seeing you again soon and watching how the benefits of our time together this week, help better position BNY and our clients for the future.
