Collaborating with AFM's National Real Estate Team: Building a Powerful Social Media Presence


Over the past three weeks, I had the pleasure of working with the incredible team at American Forest Management (AFM) to help develop a strong social media presence for their real estate division. This team, spread across the United States, is composed of highly skilled professionals dedicated to helping clients find the perfect land and properties. Their passion for what they do is truly inspiring, and I can’t recommend them enough if you’re in the market for land or real estate.



One of the standout experiences during this project was working closely with Chris Miller, RF, ALC , AFM's Managing Director of Real Estate Services. Chris consistently demonstrates an inspiring leadership style, always exploring new ways for his team to learn and grow. His forward-thinking approach and dedication to his team’s development were evident throughout our collaboration. I truly appreciated how he encouraged innovation and supported every step of our social media strategy. Chris's leadership not only made the process smoother but also enriched the experience, making it a pleasure to work with him and his team.

Throughout my time working with the AFM team, I gained valuable insights into the world of real estate, particularly the importance and benefits of investing in land. One key lesson that stood out was the understanding that land is the only resource we aren’t making more of—its finite nature makes it an incredibly valuable investment. The team emphasized how land investment offers unique advantages, such as long-term appreciation, diversification of investment portfolios, the potential for development, tax benefits, and the ability to generate passive income through leasing or agricultural use. These lessons underscored the importance of viewing land not just as a purchase, but as a strategic and rewarding investment.


Here are some of the amazing things I learned from the team:

  • Finite Resource: Land is a limited resource, making it inherently valuable as the demand continues to rise while supply remains fixed.
  • Long-Term Appreciation: Land typically appreciates in value over time, offering a stable investment that can yield significant returns.
  • Diversification: Investing in land adds diversity to your investment portfolio, reducing risk and providing a hedge against market volatility.
  • Development Potential: Land offers opportunities for development, whether for residential, commercial, or agricultural purposes, increasing its value and utility.
  • Tax Benefits: Owning land can provide tax advantages, including deductions for property taxes, interest on loans, and depreciation (in certain cases).
  • Passive Income: Land can generate passive income through leasing for agriculture, commercial activities, or recreational use.
  • Low Maintenance: Unlike developed properties, land typically requires minimal upkeep, reducing ongoing costs and maintenance responsibilities.
  • Tangible Asset: Land is a physical, tangible asset that doesn’t depreciate like vehicles or equipment, providing security and peace of mind.
  • Control and Flexibility: Landowners have significant control over their property, including the ability to develop, lease, or sell according to their goals and market conditions.
  • Legacy and Heritage: Land can be a legacy investment, passed down through generations, providing long-term security and value for your family.
