Twice a day I am on the train with people I do not know. Very defined time box of 30 minutes, completely sealed from the rest of my life by the gates of two trains stations. My challenge is to think of an idea, take a picture, write the headline and text, design the cover and publish an interesting post… while I am on the train.

You know me, everything must be branded, so “THE DAILY TRAINER” Is born.

The train in Israel is not built for the winter. The platforms are open for wind and rain. The location of the train stations is away from the city centers, and the electric scooter that I love so much gets a big NO-NO in this kind of weather. I can take my car, but traffic is even worse than on any nice wether workday. So it is down to the public-bus which I dislike or the too expensive TAXI.

They were saving millions of USDs on construction, knowing there will be a few days of poor service, and we, the customers, will pay the check for that.

So how about working from home?

My work is computer-based and not location-based. I can do it as well, regardless of my location. The only thing that will be affected by working from home is the personal meetings, which are very important. The more we are becoming digitalized, the more value there is in personal relationships and private meetings. Never the less, on extreme weather like this, most work meetings can be done as video meetings or phone calls or just wait for a day or two until the weather will be good again.

The train is five minutes late, and this guy seems so worried. It is like he is using the force of his gaze to hurry up the train. And indeed a few minutes later the train has entered the station. Thank you, Supper-Gaze-Man, for saving the day.

At work and in any interaction we have, our gaze is a very powerful tool. How many times you have said more in a gaze than in words. It can be from an expression of feelings to giving a command. It can show love or hate. Show Interest or boredom. A gaze can be cute or harsh.

Never underestimate the power of the gaze.

Today's weather forecast was gray. Clouds and rains all day. It seems like the guys at the railway company took the forecast literally, and they have sent us a "Cloud Gray" locomotive matching the clouds above.

At work and in your projects, do you use forecasts?

?? For how far ahead?

?? How accurate are your forecasts?

?? Are you forecasts provider, user, or a little of both?

We are living in the age of "Over." OverAchievements, OverTime, OverData, OverThinking, OverBudget. It seems to me like the word "Over" is practically blocking the essence and the values. It needs to be removed.

Where all of these leads? Let's say that the OverRaining of the last few days led to Infrastructure, social and political failures, and fluids all over the country.

At work and in your project, use "Over" as a sign and not as a goal. OverXxx is not a virtue, either scale or stop or suffer the overflows penalty.

The escalators in the picture are "out of order," but they are not "not working." This man is easily using them as regular stairs and quickly gets on the train platform. One functionality is temporary missing. However, the important one is there, and it is usable.

Elevators are great, but they have a single point of failure. If there is no electricity, they are not working. The escalators, on the other hand, have two points of failure, and the lack of power will damage the quality of the service but will not shut down the service altogether.

Working on your projects, how much attention and resources are you investing in Redundancy, Disaster Recovery, and Service Survivability?

To all my British friends, it is great having his Royal Highness Prince Charles here in Israel. In the picture, a welcome street screen located at the entrance to Tel-Aviv's business center, just next to the main train center.

At work, and in your personal life, how do you show your respect to others?
