Cold Calling tips!!

Technology makes our lives much easier; I cannot even remember how we survived 15 years ago... With the right digital marketing campaigns, potential customers with a need for your product/service will literally knock on your doorstep.

However, can you truly find all your ideal customers just through marketing alone?

Success is always about a combination of ingredients and not just one. A variety of leads coming in via marketing channels, networking, cold calling and tapping in on the ideal clients your network might know. ?Thinking out of the box ?

No more cold calling - Here are my Smart Calling tips:

Without further delay, here are my tips for not: cold calling rather Smart Calling:

?    The world today offers us very little true privacy, use this to your advantage. Yes cold calling is a numbers game. However, by smart calling, make fewer thought out calls to achieve better results. Find out what you can about this ideal client, their company, what potential problems they have and what small changes/improvements they feel can have a big impact in their business. Never make a call to the decision maker until you have ammo, even if you have to speak to 5 other employees to get what you need before the final smart call!

?    You should never go into a call with fear! You have to see smart calling as a game and have fun while you on phone. Be bold, take risks! Ask yourself before every call what would I say if I was 20 times bolder.. Do you really think this this poor human on your list wants to speak to a person that sounds like the 50 that already called today?

?    You have 10 seconds at most!! Make it count, if you don't give a prospect a reason to stay on the call for another 20 seconds they won't.

?    Give a client time to process what you are saying. Give a beak after you mentioned who you are, then where you are from (don't snail either). The last thing you want is a prospect asking who are you again.. From where.. Don't mumble, don't speed talk. Your phoning a human, talk like a human.. Clear and confident!

?    3 things every prospect have on their mind

     1. Who are you ?

     2. Why are you calling?

     3. What's in it for me?

  • Have a well thought out script!! Know your script - don't read! Your opening is about educating your client on who you are, where you are from, why are you calling them.
  •  Here is the trick: why you are calling need to benefit your prospect, give a statement that includes you have worked with many clients, how you are changing lives and can potentially benefit them in 1 statement / sentence.

    Then stop talking about you!

Don't be Joe at the braai that everyone hates.. Me, me, me and more me!

This is the stage where you have well planned thought out questions that can identify potential synergy and their current problems. In other words: tell me what I need to tell you to get to the next step - meeting - call - introduction. Make it about them. Your questions should guide you to a synergy between you and your prospect!

?    Questions are one of the most important tools in sales, however if you just ramble your questions and respond to every question: that's great! Why would your prospect listen and entertain your questions..? You can do more harm than good truly listen to each answer its not an interrogation. Don't use the answer to just push your solution.. We have the product just for you.. Use the answer to learn more about the problem. Questions, their answers and lastly your responses should drive a longer conversation not chase the prospect.

?    You will get silly objections if you don't know what they truly need, 'what's keeping them awake at night', what they can do better.. Your goal from this call should be based on what they need and which (1) of the many benefits of your product / service can help this specific client.

?    Always plan and go into every smart call knowing what you want from them (next step), and plan your script and questions around achieving that goal.

Good luck!! Please share your thoughts and results with the SalesX team.
