Cold Calling: The Hard Truth

Cold Calling: The Hard Truth

In the world of sales and business development, there's a common sentiment that unites us all – cold calling; and most of us HATE it, plain and simple. If you've ever been on the receiving end of one of these calls, you know that disappointing feeling when an unknown number pops up on your screen, or an unsolicited email fills your inbox when you are hoping for something familiar. But what if I told you that as much as you hate getting these cold calls/emails, I hate making them probably ten times more?

Here lies the conundrum, because I'm not selling your everyday household product or a gadget that everyone has 10 different versions of. What I'm selling is something far more valuable, something built on a foundation of core values, integrity, and an unwavering passion to make a difference where it counts. I'm selling Mixed Staffing & Recruiting, a certified women-owned business that began over 11 years ago by an incredible and passionate young woman.

As a Business Development professional, I understand that cold calls are often met with resistance, and I empathize with that sentiment. It's not an easy task to interrupt someone's day with an unexpected sales pitch. But here's the thing – Mixed Staffing & Recruiting isn't just another company trying to sell you a service. We're on a mission to transform workplaces, promote diversity, and ensure that every person has the opportunity to shine

Mixed Staffing & Recruiting isn't your typical staffing agency. We're not here to fill job vacancies for the sake of it. We're here to make a meaningful impact, to champion diversity and inclusion in the workforce, and to connect businesses with talent that truly aligns with their needs. We stand for something more significant than just profit margins; we stand for making workplaces better, more inclusive, and ultimately more successful.?

My wife Sara Knoester, the driving force behind Mixed Staffing & Recruiting, started this journey because she recognized a need for greater diversity and inclusion in the workforce. She saw the potential for people who often get overlooked to shine in the right environments. Her dedication and passion have translated into a company culture that genuinely cares about people.

So, should you ever get a random phone call from me, please hear me out, I’ll be brief I am not trying to make a sale, I’m trying to make a difference, one connection at a time. Because together we can create workplaces that are not only successful but also diverse, inclusive and filled with passionate, hardworking people who truly want to be there. It’s not always “just a sales call” sometimes it’s me, someone with connection to something bigger, and a chance to partner with a company that stands for values you might share, a company that cares deeply about the well-being of your organization.

The unconditional love I have for my wife and the incredible work she and her company does is what drives me every day. And yes, I apologize in advance for cold calling/emailing you, I'm just doing my job – a job I believe in wholeheartedly.
