No Coincidences

God Answers Prayers, Gods Gentle Voice
John 10 says, we know His voice. More specifically it says, “When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.”
I have been praying for a number of years to hear God’s voice. To know his voice. And then to obey his voice. I have circled this prayer consistently for 3 or 4 years now. I have discussed this with my closest friends. I hunger and thirst to know his and to consistently hear his voice.
At times, I have been extremely frustrated because I felt I was failing because I could not seem to hear his voice. This has been extremely frustrating to say the least. But I have been faithful to seek him.
Recently I had a most interesting day. The day started with me reading a devotional written by Justin Camp. He writes once or twice a week. I read some of them but many times I skip them. The title of his blog, Heard His Still, Small Voice? The Scriptures he used for his blog were Isaiah 30:21 and 1 Kings 19:11-12. His thoughts were good but honestly they left me wanting because his directions on what we should do to hear were not helpful to me.
About an hour later I was reading my Bible. I think most of you know I like to read it cover to cover and I am currently in 1 Kings. I started reading where I had stopped the day before. As I began to read chapter 19 I did not realizing this was the same book and chapter that Justin used in his blog. As I came upon the same verses I immediately knew four things.
1. There are no coincidences with the Lord.
2. God is alive
3. He answers prayers
4. He proved to me once again; “I am the Lord.”
I heard God’s gentle voice. I had a break through moment and it was POWERFUL.
